Part 2 of the origin of St. Nick!

So, were was I, oh yea, Nicholas had just thrown the bag of gold through the window, and now ran off. The next day, he went traipsing through the town and just "happened" to walk by the same house, to see how his plan went. The girl had found the gold, and was so happy then ran off to get married. The father was very surprised, but happy that his little girl could get married. Nicholas thought that that was the end of it, but he happened to have a second daughter who was going to get married. Again, she cried to her father for the money, but alas, he had none. So, Nicholas decided to try it again. He crept out, tossed a bag of gold through the window and snuck off. The next day, Nicholas wanted to see if his plan worked, so he walked back. The daughter was happy, the father was speechless, but apparently there had been a long line of people waiting to get married in that house, because his third (don't worry, it's his last one) daughter wanted to get married too. She was so sad that she had to see all of her sisters get married but she couldn't, that she bawled all day, just crying so much that her socks were soaked. However, the father had a plan. He would dry her socks in front of the fire! And he decided that he would go in front of the house, and hide behind the bushes, to see who was throwing these bags of gold through his window. Fortunately, he was making such a racket that Nicholas heard him. But when he tried sneaking to the back, there was no window. the only window in the house was in the front were the guy could catch him (here's were it starts getting like a tradition tsunami). So, he tried throwing it down the chimney, were legend says that it fell right in one of the girls socks that she hung by the fire to dry. But as he tried to sneak away, the father saw him. This was understandable, since Nicholas was a bishop, he was supposed to wear this bright red cloak everywhere. Nicholas explained his story to the man, and he let him go. The next morning, the girl was so happy that she was able to get the money to marry her lover, on christmas day no less! The father suggested that she would hang her socks in front of the fire every Christmas, but that's just crazy. Who in their right mind would hang socks in front of their fireplace on Christmas day, hoping for an old charitable man to come down the chimney to give them gifts?
